Name: Bearer of Christ Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States Birthday: 12/19/1984 Gender: Male
Interests: I love sharing my testimony. Art is fun, though I'm not especially good at it. I like art that gives a certain feeling to the observer. If it provokes thought, it's okay, but if it brings forth an emotion or a memory from someone's past, then it is great. Excellent visual art is like excellent music/audio art in this case (and yes, there's a difference). Expertise: Computing (photoshopping, web designing), designing/drawing up greeting cards, making up new/cool/uncouth harmonies as I sing along with my CDs (and also for singing Happy Birthday), extracting meaning from difficult history texts, writing seemingly meaningless/needless essays, giving unsolicited advice, baring my soul beyond what's called for, many other unnecessary evils and stupidities. Occupation: Student

| Two things I need to learn, and three I must study: 1) to eat when I'm hungry before it's 10:50 pm, for food eaten then will upset my stomach, 2) to plan ahead more for events that I'd like for people to be at--SUCK! I'm'a miss my friends...why do they have to make plans way before me and not invite me? I wonder if my friendship means anything. I'm not well-spoken enough, I think, or something. Or, I don't know. I'm carrying this around like I don't feel "worthy" of them or something. Why can't they treat me like they treat so many of their other friends? I don't understand what's up with me or them or whatever. I try to treat everyone the same. If I'm frustrated or annoyed with people, I will act like it, not all aloof and stuff. 3) to get to sleep at a decent hour. | | |
| Orchid A lighter light was never known/A brighter white has never grown/From brown and green and muck below/From thence appears sheer brilliant snow//And just as if it weren't enough/For such a diamond in the rough/Royal purple off the cuff/And gold's thrown in like normal stuff//Saying naught of her shape divine/Made for the eyes as grapes for wine/Here curled, here pinched, the grand design/Utter perfection in each line | | |
| I should really be writing my paper for my undergrad class right now, but there is an amazing song by Sufjan Stevens I wanted to point y'all toward. It's a Christmas song called "Come on! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance!" Listen to it on Pandora or something. It's the stuff. Despite the title. I won't ruin the experience for you by telling you what it's about. It's powerful when you figure out what he's saying without explicitly saying it. Note the volume levels of the different layers of lyrics. That's a clue. It's a really great song. Sufjan amazes me with his musical talents. And God is good, after all. That's all I've got to say right now. | | |
| Tell me what's wrong with this "Key Tracks" list from Rhapsody under their holiday music: 1. Medley: Carol of the Bells 2. White Christmas 3. Let it Snow 4. Mele Kalikimaka 5. The Chipmunk Song 6. Christmastime is Here 7. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas 8. Winter Wonderland 9. Santa Claus Go Straight to the Ghetto 10. Baby, It's Cold Outside 11. Jingle Bells 12. Christmas on TV 13. 2000 miles 14. Purple Snowflakes 15. White Christmas Hmmmm.... Can you guess? I guess I can't complain. Christian artists (by this I mean Christians who are musical artists and not necessarily writing all music with explicitly faith-based lyrics) seem to be going this direction, too. | | |
| Trance rules. Especially Fripp and Eno, and Hector Zazou. I like other styles of electronica, but trance is amazing because I can pretty much study with it on and not really be distracted. It sorta helps me focus! Random! | | |
